Guested on HuffPost Live Discussing Sequester, Telepathic Mice, & Hugo Chavez

image.png

I appeared on HuffPost Live today to discuss the sequester, Hugo Chavez, and telepathic mice. It was a fun panel with three HuffPost reporter/editors. The U.S. Senate voted down opposing plans to avert the across-the-board budget cuts known as sequestration today, just a day before spending cuts take effect. Laboratory rats have communicated with each other using brain power alone, with microscopic electrodes implanted into their brains. Venezuela's vice president said Thursday that President Hugo Chavez is fighting for his life while he continues to undergo treatment for cancer. Originally aired on February 28, 2013 Hosted by: Ahmed Shihab-Eldin Guests: Mike McAuliff @mmcauliff (Washington, DC) HuffPost Senior Congressional Reporter Michael Rundle @michaelrundle (London, United Kingdom) HuffPost UK Technology Editor Ryan Craggs @ryanrcraggs (New York, NY) HuffPost Associate World Editor Egberto Willies @EgbertoWillies (Kingwood, TX) Political Blogger and Author Phil Perrier (Los … [Read more...]

America’s Gun Future According To The NRA?

image.png

If there is appealing food on a table ready to eat one is likely to eat it. If there is a lot of food, water, or drinks, humans tend to eat and/or drink more. It should be a no brainer that if there are more guns on people’s body, they will use any possible excuse to use it. In Orange City, Florida Mr. Jose Martinez was arrested for shooting five times in the Wal-Mart parking lot off of Veterans Memorial Parkway. He told the cops that he was defending himself from a shoplifter who ran over and injured him. According to WKMG Local 6 "The guy put me in danger and other people," said Martinez as police hauled him off to jail Wednesday evening. "He tried to run me over." But police said Martinez only was bumped by the shoplifter's getaway car because he was chasing after the car and even tried to open the door to the moving vehicle before he opened fire. Eddie McKee, 42, was caught shoplifting groceries at the Walmart and took off when security confronted him, knocking down a … [Read more...]

Sean Hannity Smacked By Congressman Keith Ellison–This Is How Fox News Bullies Are Neutralized

image.png

Fox New hack Sean Hannity received a smack down from Congressman Keith Ellison. This is how all Liberals should handle Fox News bullies. Sean was visibly shocked that he was manhandled on his own show. I was very liberal with the editing as I wanted to accentuate what Rep Keith Ellison did. For those looking for journalistic balance, that is not the intent of the video. It’s intent is to show how to handle Fox News Right Wing bullies before they cut you off. Pope Benedict’s Resignation Coverage Nothing But A Distraction (VIDEO)

image.png

Are you sick and tired of the coverage of the Pope? What more is there to say. He abdicated his post and he is going to live in virtual seclusion. Another Pope will be selected shortly. Meanwhile the poor and the middle class is suffering all over the world because of self-inflicted wounds by an economic system that uses them as commodities while creating a permanent winning class. That is the real story that should be covered ad nauseum. Americans are misinformed because we have a media that concentrates on issues that are irrelevant to most of what affects them in their daily lives. If the media wanted a real issue on the church that hurt many throughout their lives they would tackle the real newsworthy issues. They would concentrate on the pedophilia in many dioceses. They would concentrate on how pastors pilfer the wealth of their followers as many struggle to tithe as pastors build big idolatrous churches and drive expensive cars. They would cover the second class status women are given in ALL churches … [Read more...]

Jon Stewart Apology Shows A Humility Missing In The Mainstream Media (VIDEO)

image.png

How often do the mainstream media misinform or outright lie? How many of them apologize or correct the record for the misinformation and lies? How often do they research and correct the political points they were forced to air from politicians and political operatives? Currently the mainstream media are scolding the Obama administration for lack of access and for using other types of media (social media and local media) to get their information out directly. They insinuate the behavior is tantamount to state run media. Maybe if the mainstream media behaved as Jon Stewart in the video below, the administration would be less reticent. It is refreshing to watch Stewart who realizes that inasmuch as he is a satirist, he should apologize and correct the record when he wrongly maligns someone. Last week he did a skit on Mississippi taking 148 years to ratify the 13th amendment, the amendment that abolished slavery. He implied that the former Mississippi secretary of state Dick Molpus, who presided over a 1995 … [Read more...]

Another Republican Governor U-turns & Accepts Obamacare’s Medicaid

image.png

It was sure to happen. Money has always trumped ideology. It is the reason that even as the GOP campaigns on small government they generally balloon both the government and the deficits. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie becomes the 8th Republican governor to accept the expansion of Medicaid under the new Obamacare law. There are still several Republican governors including Scott Walker of Wisconsin, Rick Perry of Texas and a few others that will likely be forced to cave by moneyed interest in both the insurance industry and the healthcare industry. It is evident that Christie made the u-turn for political expediency. Politicians generally do not leave free money on the table. They simply find a face saving manner to accept it. So what was Christie’s excuse? According to HuffPost: After considerable discussion and research, I have decided to participate in Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act. While we already have one of the most expansive and generous Medicaid programs in the nation, … [Read more...]

BREAKING: Senate Confirms Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel

image.png

Secretary of Defense nominee Chuck Hagel was just confirmed by the United States Senate. The vote was 58 to 41. Hagel, a former Republican Senator from Nebraska and Vietnam War Veteran, was the first defense secretary nominee to be ever filibustered. This should be no surprised as Republicans over the last few years have had year record  number of filibusters. John McCain expressed in no uncertain terms the real reason for the filibuster in an interview where he displayed uncanny frankness. Texas Senator Ted Cruz used McCarthy-like tactics in his continued effort to derail the nomination. Ultimately it was not successful. The New York Times reported that: Republicans said they believed that a shaky performance by Mr. Hagel at his confirmation hearing and his past statements on Israel and a variety of other issues had disqualified him. John Cornyn, the No. 2 Senate Republican, said Mr. Hagel’s worldview was “dangerously misguided,” and he warned that the nominee was ill prepared to handle such a … [Read more...]

Today’s the day: Democrats launch ‘Battleground Texas’ project to end GOP dominance

image.png

From Their Website Texas is at a crossroads. The Lone Star State is changing – and with its size and diversity, our state should be a place where all elections – from local elections all the way up to the President of United States are hotly contested. To do that, we need Texans in every corner of the state – from Amarillo to Brownsville and El Paso to Beaumont – to stand up and say that they’re tired of not being heard, tired of not being represented in Austin and in Washington, DC, and tired of the same Republican playbook which is failing our communities and ignoring the needs of countless Texans. Change will take time – but together we can make Texas a part of the national discussion. Grassroots voices are changing this country on a scale that was unheard of just a few years ago. Over the next several years, Battleground Texas will focus on expanding the electorate by registering more voters – and, as importantly, mobilizing those Texans who are already registered but who have not been engaged in … [Read more...]

Mainstream Media Must Blame Themselves For President Circumventing Them To Access Citizens (VIDEO)

image.png

Currently the mainstream media are scolding the Obama administration for lack of access and for using other types of media (social media and local media) to get their message out. Many in the mainstream media tend to believe that all news, especially from Washington should be filtered through them first. As seen in the video below some are even calling this new form of information dispersal by the President a form of state run media. That would be a false statement since a direct chat with constituents or local media still gives the populace the opportunity to question the President and his policies. The panel discussion below on CNN’s Reliable Sources was quite interesting. The elitism by the panelist was in full display as they believe it is they who should be the dispersers of the Presidential message and the ones to form the message. From Crook  & Liars Partial Transcript: BILL PLANTE, CBS NEWS: We have gotten used to being called whiny lap dogs. I've heard it for 30 years. But … [Read more...]
