Most of the participants outside the beltway took a more pragmatic stance on NSA Edward Snowden’s leak. Amy Goodman was adamant on government encroachment on privacy based on constitutional interpretation. Josh Zepps brought historical perspective of foreign powers using these tactics for oppression … [Read more...]

Guested on HuffPost Live Discussing Sequester, Telepathic Mice, & Hugo Chavez

I appeared on HuffPost Live today to discuss the sequester, Hugo Chavez, and telepathic mice. It was a fun panel with three HuffPost reporter/editors. Laboratory rats have communicated with each other using brain power alone, with microscopic electrodes implanted into their brains. Egberto Willies On CNN On Irresponsible Politicians & Fiscal Cliff (VIDEO)

image.png

I did a CNN iReport a couple of days ago on the politicians and the fiscal cliff. It got picked up and played today on CNN. The video is below. It can be proven that a strong middle class and equal access to the middle class created a vibrant economy. As such policies that support a strong middle class is essential for the country’s survival. If one itemizes policies that are helpful to the middle class and policies that hurt them and said policies fall with a particular party, I believe the media would be derelict in its duty not to point that out. Just as a recent example, I posted this blog post that illustrated that. Is it a left or partisan post? NO. It is a factual post. Both parties, well, all parties would do their jobs if the population were informed and could really make an informed decision. That would force the politicians to stop acting like children and govern. LIKE My Facebook Page Follow @EgbertoWillies … [Read more...]

Guested On HuffPost Live Discussing Debt Ceiling, Obama’s Inauguration, & Ellen DeGeneres

image.png

I was a guest on HuffPost Live to discuss several news topics on Huffington Post. These were Debt Ceiling, President Obama’s inauguration, and Ellen DeGeneres. The 14th amendment would allow President Obama to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling in the event of a standoff, but the White House says it won't play that card. Let the flood gates open! Obama's inaugural team is now accepting unlimited corporate donations. Is there anything wrong with that? J. C. Penney features Ellen DeGeneres in their holiday ads. One Million Moms says shoppers should boycott because DeGeneres is a lesbian. How much do consumers care?
