This chart shows the budget effect of bill passed by reconciliation. Note the first two were under GOP control of the Senate while the projected one for Healthcare Reform is under the Democrats. It is evident Republicans just talk while others are more predisposed to act and govern.
Republican’s reconciliation incurred over a 1.7 trillion dollar deficit while President Obama’s healthcare reform proposes a 130 billion dollar savings. In other words, his proposal is paid for. These are all numbers from the CBO so it is the metric all sides use.
