Will you be the spokesperson for this growing movement in your town? #p2

We’ve lost control over this movement. And we love it.

As SEIU members and activists, you and I have been building this drumbeat toward Wall Street accountability for years – long before the economic crisis hit. In the beginning, we sometimes stood alone. Then, others began to join.

Now, I’m proud to announce that thousands of Americans will be standing up to the banks in the coming weeks – and those are just at the actions we know about.

Will you be the spokesperson for this growing movement in your town? Click here to send a news release to your local paper based on what action you’re going to take:

I will be going to Kansas City, MO

I will be calling my members of Congress

I will be sending a letter online to Mitch McConnell

These next few weeks are absolutely crucial; every major Wall Street bank will be holding its shareholder meeting and we’ll be there to meet them. Last year, shareholders responded to us by removing Ken Lewis as chairman of the board at Bank of America’s annual shareholder meeting.
This year, our movement has grown 100 times larger. Taxpayers will be out front of every big bank’s shareholder meeting. But, if nobody knows about it, it doesn’t mean squat. That’s why I’m asking you, as somebody who has driven this movement, to help spread the word.

From April 27th-29th, tens of thousands of people will be taking action all across the country. However you decide to participate during those three days, will you also be a spokesperson to let your community know what you’re doing?

You helped build this movement. It’s only right that you should be its voice.
Thanks,
