Debunking Ronald Reagan Tax Purity Myth

Many in today’s Republican Party continue to worship Ronald Reagan. Interesting enough, if Ronald Reagan was running today, he could not get elected in a Republican primary. After all, while the current Republican Party and their appendage, the Tea Party are absolutist relative to their steadfast opposition to tax increases, Ronald Reagan actually raised taxes more than 4 times.

The Republicans and the Tea Party tend to call out Reagans name on just about every issue. Unfortunately they have yet to realize that in the eighties, bi-partisanship was used to compromise.

We can only trust that these guys will eventually research their idol and understand he was a pragmatist. Absolutist generally accomplish nothing universally useful to society. The reality is their behavior is no different than a spoiled child. Then again, that may be an insult to children.
