Postal Service Woes Manufactured By Congress At Behest Of Corporate Greed

Do not be fooled. While all Corporatist advertising would have you believe that the postal service is a drag on the government, that is false. Moreover, if the postal service operated like any other union based corporation it would  be doing fine. Inasmuch as the post office for the most part handles the least profitable portion of the delivery business, they are still standing. Inasmuch as they are a union shot with good middle class wages, they are still standing. They are a positive to our economy by ensuring a class of well paid and mostly hardworking employees (though some clerks are as lousy as many grocery clerks or hardware store assistant).

Do not be fooled by the false propaganda. Congress has allowed private corporations to force and impose punitive rules on the postal pension fund forcing funding not required by any corporation. Some private corporation’s goal is to deplete the postal service so much so that wages are forced to fall dramatically and then convince Congress to privatize the entire system. The corporatist would then be allowed to raid the postal pension for the excess cash even as it inherits a new low wage workforce.

Do not be fooled. This is the calculated destruction of our good neighbor, the Post Office.
