It May Be Time For All Of Us To Get On Board OccupyWallStreet

I have been very dubious about the OccupyWallStreet movement because of its lack of a deterministic objective. Could I really have been suffering from a bout of ageism? Hell no. I was concerned that the disorganization would make it just a movement that politicians and Wall Street could ignore.

I believe in organizing with a purpose and with defined goals. What I failed to see was that the young folks at the OccupyWallStreet rally had grievances that they know they individually are not able to address but that they could become a call for action. After all as the young man in the video states:

A lot has been made about the fact that a large percentage of the Occupy Wallstreet Protestors are young people and therefore aren’t representative of America. Who the f*ck do you think has the most to lose if this country starts to look like the day after tomorrow meets The Day After. Who do you think is dying overseas for a war that is now only about making Afghanistan safe for KBR shareholder profits. Who do you think has the most years left to breath the polluted air drink the tainted water eat the mutated fish and watch the fetted reality sh*t on TV that is clearly creating a nation of malignant imaginations.

Yes. The youth are the ones that we are ultimately abusing. Whereas I constantly talk about the pilfering of the middle class, I have not articulated correctly that we are not even giving the youth a chance to independently have access to the middle class. I think it is time that we take heed and move our country forward and assist every movement to peacefully take back what was stolen.
