My friend and CNN iReporter Melissa Fazli of Yorba Linda, CA searched her heart and values and made the switch officially from an Independent to a Democrat. Independent Voter Defects

CNN PRODUCER NOTE Independent voter MelissaF was motivated by last night’s State of the Union address to support Obama’s re-election campaign. She says she’s strongly in support of Obama’s call to investigate and bring prosecution against the lending practices that led up to the housing crisis: ‘I would like to see it enforced by everyone using social media everyday to keep it on Obama’s table until indictments are made,’ she said. ‘I would love to see some of these banks go directly to jail and not collect even $200 along the way.’

I have listened to all sides and after 22 years chosen one. Just note, I have voted for Independents, Republicans, Democrats, and even Libertarians in the past.

After listening to President Obama’s State of the Union Address, I have decided to change parties and I tell you my reasons why.
