Rush Limbaugh’s America is not the America where we want to raise our daughters.

Corporate sponsors and radio stations are dropping Rush Limbaugh in the aftermath of his attacks on law student Sandra Fluke — attacks that follow decades of Limbaugh smearing mothers and daughters and that come in the midst of widespread efforts to put women in their place.

We all want to live in a country where our mothers, sisters, and daughters are valued and respected. In Rush Limbaugh’s America, it’s okay to call a young woman you disagree with a "slut" and "prostitute" in front of millions of people and demand she create sex videos for you to watch.

Limbaugh didn’t just attack law student Sandra Fluke 46 times in three days and demand to watch her having sex — he incited his millions of listeners to join in. Rush Limbaugh and politicians too scared to denounce him want to put women in their place. That’s what this is about.

Republicans want to put women in their place. That’s what all of this is about.

Americans are joining together to speak out because Rush Limbaugh’s America isn’t the America where we want to raise our daughters. His values are not what we want to instill in our children.

And American companies are getting the message: what’s bad for women and families is bad for business.

Let’s stand up for an America where every girl can grow up believing she can be anything — not an America that stands by when Limbaugh and his right-wing allies try to put her back in her place.

Some Say:  "Liberals are hypocrites because media figures on the left are just as bad as Rush."

Some Say: "Lighten up — Rush is just an entertainer."

Some Say:  "Sandra Fluke is a Democratic plant."

Some Say: "Rush was right — his point is that Democrats want to create a welfare entitlement for birth control pills."
