Friendswood, tx, march 09, 2012: Dexter Smith of Friendswood, Texas filed for a position on the Democratic ballot for the office of State Board of Education District #8. Mr. Smith possesses an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Houston and a graduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. He believes it is time for educators to assume their position in helping to shaping the education system of Texas. Political ideology and partisanship on the state board has become a distraction and embarrassment for the state of Texas.
