Bill Maher–If Obama Is A Socialist He Is A Lousy One–Reality v Fallacy (VIDEO)

Sometimes it takes a comedian to get the truth out in a form that is easier to absorb by those that are generally resistant to basic information from serious factual sources that opposes their views. In watching Bill Maher on Friday May 25th, 2012 I felt compelled to dissect news worthy snippets that illustrates the absurdity of the Right’s attack on President Obama.

The Right would have you believe that the president is one of the most Left Wing Presidents we have had. Yet, most of his policies including the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and his “too low” tax policy actually followed a more moderate Republican mantra. His foreign policy follows a more Republican like belligerency with a softer edge. His evolving social policy still leaves many on the left wanting.

Look, I strongly believe that giving Obama’s upbringing he is in his heart a selfless moralist that really believes in public service (e.g., When he left Harvard, a community organizer job had to be an object of love giving his earning potential in corporate America that he simply discounted.). Moreover I think he is much more left than he is willing to govern because he in fact understands the country is made up of many viewpoints. He is attacked on all sides (Left and Right) for this.

This 90 second compressed monologue I prepared as a news snippet is prescient. It shows how a comedian in one sitting can present the Obama versus Right Wing story factually and in a funny manner. It speaks to the collapse of our mainstream media and the reliability thereof that most real news journalist are unable or unwilling to provide unbiased news where one does not try to balance truth from one side with fallacies from the other.

This will be a nasty presidential election. Citizens support different candidates for different reason. In this process we must ensure that information provided at a minimum reflect reality.
