Obamacare (ACA) Must Be Defended And Promoted Now As First Step To Middle Class Rebirth

The most conservative Supreme Court in history just upheld the health care law as constitutional. This is a victory for American families. It means lower costs, more coverage, and insurance companies can’t rip us off anymore. It’s the law.

Health care costs are a national crisis. The Court affirmed that our Constitution empowers our elected leaders to create national solutions. They affirmed that the “individual mandate” is a constitutional free rider fee that you don’t pay if you already have health insurance. The Court agreed that the rest of us shouldn’t keep paying for free riders.

Right Wing politicians and their corporate funders have wasted taxpayer time and hundreds of millions of dollars attacking the law — and they’ve vowed to keep doing so. Obamacare protects us against free riders, reins in insurance companies, and it’s upheld by the Constitution. It’s time to move forward.

Right Wing politicians and their right-wing media allies are trying to brand the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the health care law as a "massive new tax." We must dismantle these attacks for the good of our country and fellow citizens.

You must be prepared to answer the fallacy that the individual mandate is a massive tax hike.

We have had bad healthcare policy for decades. Many leaders in our corporatocracy make their profits from the inefficiency of the system. We pay thousands of dollars per family more than every other industrialized country in the world. That means reduce wages for the average working middle class American and a transfer of working middle class wealth to a very select group of high earners that produce no good or product for our society. They profit from the status quo and intend to invest hundreds of millions on false TV advertising, false radio advertising, and the smearing of this law and of all those that support these laws.

We get the government we elect. We elect the government we think have our interest at hand. We can only know who will do best if we inform ourselves from reputable sources as opposed to informing ourselves from sound bites from those who continue to pilfer the middle class even as they ask the middle class to vote against its own interest.

It is important that you stress the realities of Obamacare. No longer are you stuck in a job solely to maintain health insurance inasmuch as you want to innovate and be a job creator by forming your own company. No longer do you need to worry and be stressful about losing your home or all your assets because of an unfortunate medical event. No longer will women’s premiums be higher than men’s premiums. No longer will you have to worry that the insurance companies will find a way to cancel or rescind your insurance policy. No longer can your insurance company cap your coverage.

It is not enough that you educate yourself with factual and verifiable information. You must also share, discuss, and convince your friends, families, and acquaintances. After-all, we are in this together and only together can we ensure that we elect those who will restore the well-being of the working middle class. The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) must be defended and promoted now as the first step to middle class rebirth.
