Republicans Running Scared In Texas – Battleground Texas On Their Tails

I received this email from Battleground Texas yesterday. Suffice it to say if we do our jobs, Texas will be blue much faster than predicted.

This is amazing:

The Dallas Morning News is reporting the Republican National Committee — the RNC in Washington, D.C. — has committed to spending significant campaign money in Texas.

Think about that for a second.

There is no clearer sign that Texas matters and will become a battleground state than the national Republican Party investing money in Texas in 2013.

This story is a testament to the power of this organization and our grassroots supporters — and it’s time to ramp up the pressure ahead of our first fundraising deadline.

Right now, all donations to Battleground Texas will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $100,000. If you’ve been waiting to step up, there’s never been a better time to make that first donation.

Donate $5 or more today, and double your impact.

In April, Attorney General Greg Abbott called Battleground Texas “more dangerous” than North Korea, and recently a Tea Party leader was caught on tape saying, “Republicans don’t want black people to vote.”

Now, the national Republican Party is scrambling to figure out how to target Hispanics and other constituency groups across the state.

They think they can win over Hispanics and African Americans and women and young people with a PR offensive and a marketing campaign.

Well, here’s what I think:

They can’t sell their product no matter how much they spend in Texas. If we get close to the turnout and registration numbers we have in states like Colorado, or Florida, or Nevada — we win Texas.

And if that happens, as Senator Ted Cruz said, “no Republican will ever again win the White House.”
There has never been a more concrete example that our message is working. Time to turn it up.

Texas should be a battleground state, and we’re going to make it happen.
Keep up the good work,
