Accused Teacher Angel Nicole McFarland
A teacher at Aldine Independent School District Davis High School is accused of improper contact with a child. Angel Nicole McFarland, a 25 year old substitute teacher is accused of sending explicit photographs and text messages to a 16 year old student.
Click2Houston reported the following.
According to court documents, the two arranged to meet and engaged in sexual contact several times at the teenager’s apartment complex. The alleged improper relationship came to light when the 16-year-old confided in another teacher at the school and showed the teacher the text messages and sexually explicit photographs he allegedly received from McFarland.
After the teenager had that conversation, that teacher reported it to the Aldine ISD police. After an investigation, they filed felony charges in the Harris County Texas District Attorney’s Office. When the police visited the teenager, it was reported that he lost control until he was informed that he was not in trouble.
Angel Nicole McFarland was a substitute teacher at two high schools in the Houston area. She worked at both Davis High School and Nimitz High School She worked between January 25, 2012 and November 1st, 2013 when she was fired on. Angel Nicole McFarland is not allowed to substitute teach in the Aldine Independent School district any longer. She surrendered to police on November 12th and posted a $10,000 bond.
Are today’s teachers more predatory on their students than in the past? Is it that more students are more willing to come forward? It was not long ago that Amanda Feenstra, a Texas Dance Teacher, was accused of having sex with a female student. This question needs to be answered. Teachers may need more explicit warnings about any engagement with students. This would likely prevent too many Angel Nicole McFarland cases.
