Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson Racist And Homophobic Saga Prove Money Talks (VIDEO)

Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson Homophobic Rant

It all started with the GQ article. After all, Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is a real ‘star’ now. He has earned the right to be interviewed by GQ. Right? Was the interview a mistake? Not really. It just allowed the real duck man to emerge.

Phil Robertson said in this GQ article.

“It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.” …

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

It sound eerily like the video uncovered above. But he was not done. This is what he had  to say about the black people he grew up with.

“I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash. We’re going across the field…. They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!… Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.”

Maybe he should ask his black friends if his interpretation was accurate. Do you want to bet what the answer would have been?

When word of this article  made it into the blogosphere and on TV, A & E, the network airing Duck Dynasty went into damage control mode. They suspended Phil Robertson indefinitely.

Phil Robertson and A & E prove it’s just about the dollar.

Of course with all the publicity, A & E did something special. They began airing a Christmas Duck Dynasty mega-marathon. They  began showing 25 episodes of Duck Dynasty in a row.

Soon thereafter, the indefinite Phil Robertson suspension became a rescinded suspension. A & E changed its mind. They released a statement that said the following.

As a global media content company, A+E Networks’ core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principals.

That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson.  While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the “coarse language” he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article.  He also made it clear he would “never incite or encourage hate.”  We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold.

But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family… a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness.  These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.

So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.

We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.

It turns out the only thing that matters is green. America turned on their TVs even after the controversy. To A & E that may imply that Americans are OK with having a racist, homophobic, degenerate, man, and his family on their TVs.

Ultimately it is not about morality, values, or what is right. It is about the mighty dollar. Phil Robertson has a lot of it. Phil Robertson is making a lot of it for A & E. Phil Robertson will remain on A & E.
