Easy Dirt on David Alameel by Michelle Michon

 Michelle Michon

In Texas, our choice for the Democratic nominee for United States Senator is between two people: Maxey Scherr and David Alameel. In preparing to vote in this primary, I did some research on both candidates, and to me, the choice is clear. We Must Elect Maxey Scherr!

A brief description of my research: I found an article by Lobby Watch. It states that Alameel “appears to have sought preferential treatment in pressing the Texas Racing Commission for a racetrack license”, hinting that he could obtain one without a background check. It details over $1 Million in contributions to Texas Republicans, with the higher amounts to officials who had some sway on the Racing Commission.

This article contradicts the recent Lone Star Project’s article on Alameel that names him as a “generous contributor” to their organization and lists absolutely zero in contributions to Republicans for 2008.

David Alameel

There is more information out there on David Alameel’s former ownership of the Jefferson Dental Clinics and just how they made their profits. In addition there are rumors floating around about a visit with the Taliban, OBL and the Clinton Administration. My guess would be that Cornyn and the Texas Republicans would have a field day with either subject no matter what the facts are.

As for his Wendy Davis endorsement, the Dallas Observer article is one to read. It claims Alameel a “sinking ship” and predicts he doesn’t stand a chance to win against Cornyn. They added that Alameel was the “Don Quixote of the race, delusionally tilting at the windmill of elected office” in the 2012 U.S. House race. They were correct as Alameel spent $4.5 million (about $2,200 per vote) and still ended up in 4th place after Marc Veasey.

I am a Seventh Generation/Spanish Land Grant Texan. It is my dream to see Texas a beautiful Blue once again. It cannot happen fast enough to suite me. I am not a professional researcher, and I have no experience with political campaigns. All I know is, if I can dig up this kind of dirt on David Alameel, I would hate to see what the Texas GOP comes up with.

Wendy Davis & Maxey Scherr

In the end, my vote will be for Maxey Scherr. I see her as the candidate who shares my Texas Values and one who could give Cornyn a run for his money. She is from a border town, and that can only help her in this fight.

Incidentally, when I looked for dirt on Maxey Sherr, I came up empty-handed.
