Cliven Bundy speaks and his racist comments have conservatives now running away (VIDEO)

Cliven Bundy

Clive Bundy has done it this time. Cliven Bundy has become the hero of many conservatives. SE Cupp and Bill Kristol must be counting their blessings after overtly coming out against Cliven Bundy earlier this week.

Cliven Bundy has been having daily news conferences. According to the New York Times he said the following at one of those news conferences.

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.”

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

It was not hard to read between the lines during the many interviews given by Cliven Bundy that he was in fact a racist. It is ironic that while he has been freeloading on Americans for decades he feels that he is justified to speak about the black people who are dependent on government assistant as a monolith.

Cliven Bundy is not backing down from his racist statements

Just as I am writing this, Clive Bundy has just completed a news conference where he dug in deeper. It is amazing that a man that can barely articulate a sentence feels himself superior to anyone. The video follows.

Conservative politicians that were actively supporting Cliven Bundy seem to be back tracking. The New York Times report the following.

A spokesman for Mr. Heller, who had also expressed support for Mr. Bundy’s supporters, said the senator “completely disagrees with Mr. Bundy’s appalling and racist statements, and condemns them in the most strenuous way.”

Mr. Bundy has been championed by some Fox News commentators, though there were signs that they were distancing themselves after his remarks were published.

Greta Van Susteren of Fox News posted a link on her blog to the Times article under the headline, “Let me make this plain: I condemn what
Cliven Bundy said about African-Americans.”

The Nevada Democratic Party issued a statement shortly after the article was published, denouncing Republicans for having aligned themselves with Mr. Bundy.

“These comments are reprehensible, and every Republican politician in the state of Nevada who tried to latch on to Cliven Bundy’s newfound celebrity with Tea Partiers and the militia movement should be ashamed of their actions,” it read.

Yesterday Jon Stewart excoriated Sean Hannity for his hypocrisy in supporting the freeloading Cliven Bundy. One wonders how Sean Hannity will move forward on this subject now that Cliven Bundy has shown a proclivity for hate.
