Jon Stewart provocative racism probe everyone should take heed of (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart Amazing Racism

Jon Stewart Hits The Mark Again – Amazing Racism

Jon Stewart had a prescient statement near the end of his skit that encapsulates America’s racial path. His entire skit brings it into perfect context. One hopes those viewing it for a laugh, see the real message he was likely trying to portray.

“Here is the thing about racism in this country,” Jon Stewart said. “The reaction to Sterling and Bundy, the overwhelming condemnation make it clear we have made enormous progress in teaching everyone that racism is bad. Where we seemed to have dropped the ball is in teaching people what racism actually is which allows people to say these incredibly racist things while insisting they would never.”

Jon Stewart shows three distinct types of denials in this piece. Many affected by racism live through these while finding them hard to address without some flawed but vocal counterattacks.

Jon Stewart shows the cognitive dissonance of many on the Supreme Court and many on Fox News. Don’t we have a black president? Yes. But does he not have to weather attacks no other president has?

Jon Stewart shows the blatant racists like Donald Trump and Donald Sterling who think the power of persona can override personal unabashed racism. Do you believe the reality you see or the reality I tell you to see and believe?

Then there are those that are genuinely ignorant like Cliven Bundy who really do not understand that they are really racist. One can’t help but feel sorry for Cliven Bundy. He is just a scared ignorant man.

Those that are ignorant can be taught and can learn to change. Those with cognitive dissonance overtime can also change if they so desire. Those that are racist because of the empowerment they feel it gives their own persona are unchangeable.

Jon Stewart did a perfect job of showing these types in all their glory. One hopes those watching absorb it and see how they really measure up race-wise.
