Fox News’ Megyn Kelly slams Dick Cheney over Iraq. Say what? (VIDEO)

Megyn Kelly, Dick Cheney,Iraq

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly gets it right as she slams the Dick Cheney revisionist history

What is going on at Fox News? Did they actually implicitly defend President Obama? It seems that was the case this week as Megyn Kelly really excoriated Dick Cheney for his Wall Street Journal op-ed where he stated the following.

Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many. Too many times to count, Mr. Obama has told us he is “ending” the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan—as though wishing made it so. His rhetoric has now come crashing into reality. Watching the black-clad ISIS jihadists take territory once secured by American blood is final proof, if any were needed, that America’s enemies are not “decimated.” They are emboldened and on the march.

Not even Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, a part of the Right Wing misinformation machine was taken aback by Dick Chaney. She was very blunt with him. “In your op-ed you write as follows. Rarely has a U.S. president been so wrong about so much at the expense of so many,” Megyn Kelly said. But time and time again, history has proven that you got it wrong as well in Iraq sir. You said there was no doubt Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. You said we would be greeted as liberators. You said the Iraq insurgency was in its last throws back in 2005. And you said that after our intervention extremists would have to quote, rethink their strategy of jihad. Now with almost a trillion dollars spent there with forty five hundred American lives lost there, what you say to those who say you were so wrong about so much at the expense of so many?”

In a few sentences Megyn Kelly encapsulated Dick Chaney’s entire failed Iraq policy. In a few sentences she makes his entire op-ed moot. So how did Dick Cheney respond? He said he fundamentally disagreed with her statement. Fundamentally disagreeing with a fact is tantamount to disagreeing with the earth being virtually a sphere. It shows his lack of honesty and the ability to feel shame.

When Fox News gets something right like they did here, it makes one wonder. Why would they push back on Cheney? It is rather simple. Most Americans now know Cheney took us into an unnecessary war on false premises. If Dick Chaney becomes the story it does nothing but elevate President Obama when a comparison of Dick Chaney and to a lesser extent President Bush, is placed into context side by side.
