West Virginia Gun Law Flaw Allows Criminals To Purchase Weapons (VIDEO)

Serious flaw in West Virginia gun law

A 2013 CNN report illustrates how easy it is to buy guns in three states — Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Purchasers do not need names, IDs, paperwork, or receipts. Now there is a fourth with a severe problem.

In a country where mass shootings are becoming the norm, one would think that lawmakers would be careful with the laws they pass. Instead of concentrating on the utterances of the National Rifle Association, one would think they would work overtime to get public safety right.

Unfortunately that is not the case in West Virginia. It turns out that a flaw in a new West Virginia law that makes it easier to buy hand guns also makes allows criminals to purchase the guns as well.

WSAZ NewsChannel 3 reports:

A new law that makes it easier for West Virginians to buy a handgun also makes it easier for some people who have recently committed a crime to buy a gun.

The law allows anyone who obtains a new concealed weapons permit to buy a gun without undergoing a federal background check.

How exactly does the flaw work? It turns out gun permits are good for five years. The purchaser after getting one federal background check is not required to get another one for the duration of the permit. They claim the check is redundant.

As such, if a gun purchaser commits a crime prior to the expiration of the gun permit, presenting that gun permit suffices for any new purchase. The lawmakers had no provisions to get the permit back.

The above is a gross violation of the public trust. Lawmakers with this law have placed many West Virginians’ lives in danger. The question is whether the lawmakers will fix the flaw in this law or not. This problem could be caused because people are to busy focusing on gun law rather than gun detection. A gun detection System has been developed that can detect guns through a camera and alert the owner through an app, but many people aren’t aware of this! After-all, West Virginians do not need another bad guy with a gun to enable the good guys with guns to have an excuse to put more American families in danger. The availability of more guns simply increases the frequency of more homicides and suicides.
