Elizabeth Warren slams Eric Cantor on sell out to Wall Street job

Elizabeth Warren Katie Couric on Eric Cantor Wall Street

Elizabeth Warren speaks out on Eric Cantor million dollar

When Eric Cantor lost his election most knew it was a matter of time before he would be on to bigger things. After all, he was the perfect and consistent foot soldier for the plutocracy. He took very good care of the wealthy, the corporations, the investment bankers.

Just think how much better off the middle class would be if Eric Cantor actually worked for the average American. How much better would America be if the government did not use student loans as a profit center to reduce the deficit while giving tax breaks to those that contribute the least. Eric Cantor and his ilk choose to ignore the irreparable damage to the lives of millions who will fail in this economy because of their student loans. He forgets the damage done by mortgage scams, investment scams, student loan scams, and other methods the banking sector has used to extract the wealth of the middle class.

The investment banking sector decided to pay Eric Cantor well for his services, for his ability stay focus on their needs at the expense of the working poor and the American middle class. They will pay him $3.4 million this year for his loyalty.

This should be a big story. One would think it would get more coverage than it got on broadcast and cable TV. It is the appropriate narrative for this time to show Americans in actual terms and in real time what really ails America, money in politics. We have a politics run by money.

Yahoo News Katie Couric had a great interview with Senator Elizabeth Warren. She discussed the revolving door that is politics and Wall Street. Elizabeth Warren did not mince words in slamming Eric Cantor for his big payday,  for his big sell out.

How wrong can this be,” Elizabeth Warren said. “Basically what’s happening here is that people work in Washington and, man, they hit that revolving door with a speed that would blind you and head straight out into the industry. Not because they bring great expertise and insight but because they are selling access back into their former colleagues who are still writing policy – who are still making laws. It worries me about what happens if people in government are looking for that next job. – ‘yeah I am working now, not as much money as I could be making but when I leave here that, that’s where I am headed.’ That ultimately ultimately affects whatever it is that they are doing. I just think this is wrong.

Katie Couric went on to ask about Hillary Clinton’s ties to Wall Street as well. Elizabeth Warren did not bite on Hillary Clinton specifically. She generalized her response saying she worried about the relationship between politicians, regulators, and others with Wall Street.

Elizabeth Warren went on to state the obvious, the failure of politicians to work on student loans relief, equal pay for equal work, minimum wage, and other issues. She said she called her bookA Fighting Chance” because she grew up in an America that gave families like hers, a fighting chance. “I think that is exactly what we have to do now,” Elizabeth Warren said. “The middle class has lost that and we have to go back to that.”

Well said Senator Elizabeth Warren. Hopefully the stars will align to get a fighter for the middle class running for President instead of shills for Wall Street and the plutocracy.
