Code Pink disrupts ISIS/ISIL Senate Armed Services Committee Hearing multiple times

Code Pink Medea Benjamin

Code Pink is doing the job the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party should be doing. They are not simply acquiescing to the false narrative being pushed by the Military Industrial Complex. They are not going to be silent as America once again is conned into war.

Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin disrupts ISIS / ISIL hearing at least three times

The drumbeat to war so far is very successful. The media, both the Right and the ‘Left’ are in full puppet mode. They are actually selling war more so than the President. It will take organizations like Code Pink who do not buy into the narrative at face value.

Code Pink disrupted the Armed Services Committee hearing at least four times. As Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel was about to read his prepared remark, a Code Pink protester stood up wearing a “NO WAR” T-shirt and a poster with the message “There is no military solution.” The protester shouted “No more war. The American public does not want war.” Senator Carl Levin, Chairman of the Armed Service Committee asked the protester to leave and told her she was acting warlike herself.

As General Martin Dempsey was about to speak, Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin stood up with a poster that said “More War = More Extremism.”  She started chanting her anti-war message. She said it is the US intervention that opened the way for ISIL. Medea Benjamin said that the US military would not be a solution and that it would be counterproductive. “Don’t drag us to another war. We had thirteen years of war,” Medea Benjamin said.

Immediately thereafter another protester stood up and shouted, “Please Senator … we need a debate … we need smart Senators not smart bombs. We need to end this foolishness once and for all. You are breeding extremism.”

During Senator John McCain’s questioning one more protester stood up with a poster that said “There is no future in war.” Her shouts could not overpower the loud hammering of Senator Carl Levin’s gavel. She was whisked out quickly. Senator John McCain seemed excited and amused with satisfaction that he received attention from the protesters.
