Bill O’Reilly comes out in strong support of President Obama’s Iran agreement (VIDEO)

Bill O'Reilly comes out in strong support of President Obama Iran agreement

Bill O’Reilly supports President Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran

Yesterday a historic agreement was reached between Iran and the United States and its P5+1 allies. One should read the four page document titled “Parameters for a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Nuclear Program” before listening to most of the pundits on the Right and some Democrats who are hyperventilating and knocking the agreement. One should completely disregard Benjamin Netanyahu’s assertions which have always been wrong, many recently ridiculed by Jon Stewart with incontrovertible evidence.

One voice on the Right that surprised most is Bill O’Reilly. He came out in strong support of the President’s actions with rather pragmatic and salient statements in that support. Lawrence O’Donnell did a masterful job in the video snippet above in matching the Presidents statements with many of Bill O’Reilly’s surprisingly correct assertions.

Bill O’Reilly agreed that the President wants a deal with Iran because it is likely the best way to have some sort of control over possible Iranian ‘bad’ actions. He agreed with the President that bombing Iran or a war with Iran would have unintended consequences that would “set the world aflame” He said a decent agreement is preferable and the President’s point was legitimate.

When Gretchen Carlson asked, “What about the fact that they [Iran] are a state sponsor of terror?” his answer was pragmatic and uncharacteristically smart. “Bad country. We have negotiated with bad people in the past. It is a bad country. So the thing is do you destroy the bad country? We could do that. But that would be a world war. Or do you deal with a bad country and try to make it better. And that’s the path that the President wants to take.”

Is Bill O’Reilly attempting to change his mode as being simply a flaming hot head? One never knows with this man as he is generally much less than rational. Given his ratings, there are some in the Right that may listen to him and allow a few Right Wing politicians to give peace a chance.
