This is why Bernie Sanders is packing the crowds in
Bernie Sanders continue to draw the crowds. According to RSN,
After speaking to 2,000 people in Dubuque, IA, Bernie Sanders took questions from the media. The first question came from the Wall Street Journal, the reporter was looking to get Bernie to attack Hillary Clinton. Bernie didn’t take the bait and instead attacked the mainstream media for not covering important issues, and seeking conflict between the candidates with gotcha questions.
Bernie defended his record after a reporter asked how he can be an anti-establishment candidate while being a career politician.
Bernie Sanders confronted reporters head on with responses that redirected their questions to the issues that matter forcefully, artfully, and passionately. Sanders explained the reason his campaign is exceeding the expectations of everyone.
“The issue that I want to be talking about is the collapse of the American middle-class,” Bernie Sanders said. “You guys are going to write about that? Is that an important issue? The need to create millions of decent paying jobs. The obscenity of the kind of level of income and wealth inequality that we have today. The reason our campaign is doing well is because people are responding to those issues. So I am not going to get into the game of sitting around attacking Hillary Clinton. We disagree. If I have anything to say about it, a respectable intelligent debate.”
A reporter asked why Americans vote against their own self-interest. He responded that if he knew he would be a lot smarter that he actually is. He then got the answer right. The GOP has been effective in dividing people and having them fight against each other.
Bernie Sanders ended the interview by castigating the reporters. He told them that Americans want the candidates to talk about issues that impact them.
