Chuck Todd grills Scott Walker but gave him a platform to deceive (VIDEO)

Chuck Todd allowed Scott Walker to spin his failure

Chuck Todd had the perfect opportunity to do his journalistic duty.  He had very solid questions for Scott Walker which place him on the hot seat for his failed economic policies in Wisconsin and his giveaway of Wisconsin’s taxpayer dollars to billionaires for a stadium (corporate welfare/corporate socialism). He failed.

Chuck Todd channeled a President Obama when he contrasted liberal policies working much better in Minnesota than Scott Walker’s conservative policies in Wisconsin. In a speech in July President Obama said the following.

“Minnesota is winning this border battle,” President Obama said. “If you end up having policies that cut education, help folks at the top, aren’t expanding opportunity, then it is not going to work. We need better policies. Cause the bottom line is top down economics doesn’t work. Middle-class economics works.”

“I want to stick with your governing style and your neighboring state, Minnesota,” Chuck Todd said. “It has been an interesting experiment to watch. Wisconsin and Minnesota, the two of you very different public policy paths. You cut spending, took on unions, didn’t expand Medicaid under healthcare. Minnesota raised taxes, they raised the minimum wage, they expanded Medicaid, all these data points. Minnesota right now has stronger numbers than Wisconsin. A lower unemployment rate, faster growing economy, fewer people without health insurance, and it is viewed as a better state to do business by a lot. They are in the top ten. Wisconsin is in the middle of the pack.”

How did Scott Walker respond? He says it is not an apple to apple comparison. Of course it is not. It is a comparison between sane middle-class centric policy and proven failed policies.

Chuck Todd then hit Walker with his biggest bout with conservative hypocrisy. He is using Wisconsin taxpayer dollars to build a new NBA stadium. Scott Walker’s convoluted answer attempted to pull the wool over ones eyes. The video clip illustrates that Walker and his ilk believes the audience is either not listening or lacks intelligence.
