Military Industrial Complex at work? More War!
The Guardian is reporting that there is yet another escalation on America’s war effort in the Middle-East, specifically Syria.
The Obama administration is expected to announce on Friday a decision to deploy a small number of special operations forces in an advisory role to Syria, US administration and congressional sources said.
The United States will send 20 to 30 special operations forces to Syria to serve as military advisers in the fight against Islamic State, a US official said.
The additional US troops will operate in a limited “advise and assist” capacity, without changing Barack Obama’s overall mission to combat the militant group, a separate US official said.
Does anyone remember Vietnam? What about Iraq? Once again we have a president who is acquiescing to the information orchestration by the defense industrial complex. Worse, once again we have a hyperventilating media presenting a case for the need of America to go to war again as they malign a president who is hesitant to take on a ‘boots on the ground’ war footing.
Well it seems the mission creep is in full effect. It seems the Defense Industrial Complex will be receiving increased orders for bullets, missiles, spare parts, MREs, and all the products of death they produce. It seems more of our tax dollars, more of our wealth will be redistributed to enrich the very small elite who profit from war.
Richard Engle describes the three prong approach in this latest mission creep.
- Send special operations forces on the ground into Syria working with militia groups
- Base a rapid reaction force in Northern Iraq
- Send more combat aircraft to Turkey including F15s and A10s
Should we be waiting for the now infamous justifying statement for our continuous involvement? — Fight them there, so we don’t have to fight them here?
