Ron Fournier: ‘We are one major hit away from a national unraveling’ (VIDEO)

Ron Fournier - 'We are one major hit away from a national unraveling'.

The National Journal’s Ron Fournier’s prescient statement

Meet the Press was rather substantive this week. It included a rather neocon-like statement from Tom Brokaw where he pretty much attempted to will America into a senseless war footing.

Near the end of the pundit’s round table, National Journal’s Ron Fournier had a rather prescient statement that should be explored.

“If this week is a reflection of how our leaders are going to respond to the next 9/11, I really think that we are one major hit away from a national unraveling,” said Ron Fournier. “And I think of Bill Clinton who talked about at times of insecurity, people want a, would rather have a leader who is wrong and strong than right and weak. Well we have a lot of leaders right now especially on the right side of the paradigm who are very, trying to pretend that they are strong and they are very very wrong.”

Enough journalists are not pointing out that fact. Much coming out of the mouths of the likes of Donald Trump, Ben Carson, and Marco Rubio are not only bigoted and disruptive, but dangerous. When Donald Trump speaks about registering Muslims, or when Ben Carson equates Muslims to rabid dogs, or when Marco Rubio speaks about a clash of civilizations they are inciting violence. These are destabilizing statements that in effect tells a part of the American community and a the population at large that their beliefs are inconsistent and cannot coexist with some false American norm.

Americans must use their voices to refute these ideologues by all means available. One must use their entire sphere of influence to ensure this cancer is eradicated.
