This police murder was covered up by the entire group of officers who saw it
Many think it is unwarranted paranoia when certain groups in society distrust the police. Officer Jason Van Dyke videotaped execution of Laquan McDonald would never have seen the light absent a benevolent whistle blower.
The police video shows Loquan McDonald running, then later walking down the middle of the street. He first heads toward some police cars with flashing lights, then visibly veers away from them. It’s then that he appears to spin around and falls, brought down by a barrage of bullets. There were 16 shots fired over 15 seconds, all by officer Jason Van Dyke.
This incident is not the exception. It simply got documented. Many have reported these types of incidents before. However the blue line of silence rarely allows other than the manufactured truth to emerge.
Granted, all the other cops likely behaved properly. They were all complicit in the murder of Laquan McDonald as their silence and defective reports allowed the charade to continue as long as it did.
Anyone who believes in the infallibility and honesty of every officer is sadly mistaken. Officers reflect society. The same prejudices and goodwill in society is found in law enforcement. The only difference, the blue line of silence that allows corrupt prejudice violent criminal police officers to remain in the ranks.
