Poll: Bernie Sanders better general election candidate than Hillary Clinton (VIDEO)

Narrative gives impression that Hillary Clinton polling better than Bernie Sanders in the general

The new Quinnipiac University Poll was just released. The poll has mixed results for Bernie Sanders. Hillary Clinton even with a monumental lead in the primary must be concerned because of her favorability ratings. Enthusiasm should likely be concerning as well.

The poll shows that Donald Trump remains at the top of the Republican clown cart by double digits, a substantial margin of 10 points. It shows that the continued Ben Carson slide, now to a third place tie with Ted Cruz.

Those who believe Trump will go away are in for a severe disappointment. A larger percentage of Donald Trump supporters are rock solidly committed to him than any other candidate. Moreover, money spent by Republican candidates seem to be irrelevant so far. Could this mean the Supreme Court’s effecting of the selling of our elections with the Citizens United, McCutcheon, & Santa Clara cases may be losing steam?

The poll has a quite interesting tidbit that many seem to be giving little weight to. It shows that if Bernie Sanders were to make it to the general election, he has a better chance of beating every Republican candidate of consequence than Hillary Clinton.

“Secretary Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders have to be hoping Trump is the GOP’s guy.”

American voters shift to Clinton as the Democrat gains ground against Republicans:

  • 47 – 41 percent over Trump, compared to 46 – 43 percent November 4;
  • Clinton at 45 percent to Rubio’s 44 percent, compared to a 46 – 41 percent Rubio lead last month
  • Clinton tops Cruz 47 – 42 percent, compared to Cruz at 46 percent to Clinton’s 43 percent last month;
  • Clinton at 46 percent to Carson’s 43 percent compared to Carson’s 50 – 40 percent lead last month.

Sanders does just as well, or even better, against top Republicans:

  • Topping Trump 49 – 41 percent;
  • Getting 44 percent to Rubio’s 43 percent;
  • Beating Cruz 49 – 39 percent;
  • Leading Carson 47 – 41 percent.

Trump and Carson are doing well because they are outsiders and the American disdain of the political type is palpable. Rubio and Cruz are doing well because they give the semblance of being outsiders. Hillary Clinton is doing well because most Democrats want to win and believe they are made to believe they have no other choice. One should remember the same sentiment occurred for some time in 2008. If Americans decide to make that leap of faith all hell will break loose on both sides of the political spectrum and we may indeed get that revolution Sanders needs for a breakout.
