Ted Cruz lies on Obamacare called out
Fox News’ Chris Wallace had Ted Cruz rattled as he challenged his lies on Obamacare and Cruz’s supposed solution. Is Wallace auditioning for MSNBC? This is the second time in as many weeks he has challenged Ted Cruz.
Chris Wallace played a piece showing Ted Cruz on the campaign trail lying to his audience. Cruz said that six years of Obamacare was a disaster. He said that millions of Americans have lost their jobs and millions have been forced into part-time work. He also said millions have lost their health care and their doctors.
Chris Wallace would have none of it. “But Senator the fact checkers say you are wrong,” Wallace said. “Since that law went into effect the unemployment rate fell from 9.9% to 5%. 13 million new jobs were created. And 16.3 million people who were previously uninsured now have coverage.”
Ted Cruz responded with the standard Right Wing tag line. “Chris, the media fact checkers are not fair and impartial,” Cruz said. “They are liberal editorial journalists and they have made it their mission to defend Obamacare.”
Chris Wallace reiterated that there is no question that more people have jobs and more people have health insurance. Ted Cruz disputed even with the evidence and attempted to changed the subject. Wallace would continue to point out the facts so much so that Cruz got rattled. “Chris don’t interrupt me,” Cruz said. “I am …” Chris pointed out that he was changing the subject and not answering. Actually Ted Cruz was simply lying.
Later Wallace challenged Cruz on his proposal to replace Obamacare, CruzCare. Cruz’s alternative is to allow insurance to be sold across state lines, expand health savings accounts, and make insurance portable if one switches jobs. Wallace points out that the CBO, nonpartisan agency said that would not come close to insuring the uninsured or improving the system.
Ted Cruz’s like the rest in his ilk’s cognitive dissonance continued. Then again, what should one expect from those who deny climate change, a woman’s right to choose, or science in general?
