Kwame Rose recounts the day he had Geraldo Rivera running from him

Kwame Rose participated on a panel held by the Lone Star College Center for Civic Engagement. The title of the panel was “Making History by Acting in the Moment: Race in America.”

Kwame Rose is the infamous Baltimore activist that forced Geraldo Rivera out of a neighborhood when Rivera attempted to misreport the news. The video of him confronting Geraldo Rivera went viral.

Kwame recounted the story of how the media misreported the Baltimore riots. They showed decades old damage as riot inflicted damage. They made people scared of going to the stadium. In fact many of the agitators at the stadium were not those from the community. They were instead patrons.

Kwame Rose spoke about what he did in the neighborhood. He went into the community and empowered many of the young men in the neighborhood. Eventually many were invited to the White House.
