NYC Commissioner William Bratton takes it to Ted Cruz
New York City Commissioner William Bratton did not mince words as he excoriated Ted Cruz for his irresponsible comments on Muslim neighborhoods. Bratton hit Ted Cruz very hard with a statement that could resonate in the presidential primaries.
“I would remind the Senator that he lives in the United States of America,” William Bratton said. “The statements he made today is why he is not going to become president of this country. Because we do not need a president, who doesn’t respect the values that form the foundation of this country. I have over nine hundred very dedicated officers in this department, many of whom do double duty. They serve as active-duty members of the U.S. military in combat, something the Senator has never seen. So before he starts denigrating any population group, take a close look at who he is denigrating.”
The New York City Commissioner is absolutely correct. The chicken hawks who continue to push war or aggressive actions against our own are generally cowards. They ask others to sacrifice while they simply incite others. Bratton did the right thing is calling Ted Cruz out for the clear and present danger that he is.
