Liberals and Conservatives can converse

I had a fascinating dialogue with a Conservative on my very Liberal radio show that is worth listening to. Is it so difficult for us to communicate in this manner? Not at all.
Politics Done Right is a decidedly Liberal talk radio show. The difference between my show and others, whether Liberal, Conservative or otherwise is that I want to a real dialogue with my callers. Most importantly I respect the callers enough to listen. They get the opportunity to get their point of view on air.
I have a lot of Conservative listeners. It is an important part of the mission. The tone of the show ensures that everyone knows they will be heard irrespective of their point of view.
A Conservative caller, John, called in today. What he brought to the show was invaluable. The current state of our politics does not encourage the type of communication we were able to have. Most importantly, John likely dispelled to the thousands of listeners the notion that Conservatives are unable to have an intellectual or logical based conversation. I encouraged John to be that catalyst that engages those on ‘his side of the aisle.’ That is what it will take.
