Joy-Ann Reid squashes Mainstream Media’s attempt at Glenn Beck rehabilitation (VIDEO)

Joy-Ann Reid adds sanity to a roundtable devoid of political depth

Joy-Ann Reid appeared on Meet the Press with Chuck Todd. She added some sanity to the good-old-boy network as she reminded Chuck Todd and company about Glenn Beck’s past political savagery.

Joy-Ann Reid has always had a knack for adding a necessary adjustment to the prevailing narrative when she gets an opportunity to insert the appropriate point of view. Recently Glenn Beck appeared on many networks to provide some objective opinion about the current GOP Primary dysfunction.  He is paraded as someone worthy of being respected for his views. The Past is prologue. Only in the good-old-boy network can someone who has created this much animus in this country, be given the opportunity of plausible respectability.

Earlier in the interview, Chuck Todd interviewed Glenn Beck. He asked the panel to comment on Beck’s comments. Joy-Ann Reid’s response was perfect. Before answering, she qualified who Glenn Beck really is.

“Can we just for moment go back and pause on Glenn Beck and this sort of ‘come together we are all in this together message’,”This was the guy who launched the 9/12 movement on the anniversary of the March on Washington saying that they were the real heirs to King’s legacy and said that the President of the United States hates white people and hates the white culture. So I find it interesting that he has decided to take on this key role in his own mind to bring the country together. But on the political sphere, I think he is right. I think the establishment cannot answer a revolt from its own base by saying we will give you this other establishment guy who is way better than the other establishment guy.”

Inasmuch as Glenn Becks narrative in the Chuck Todd interview was correct, Joy-Ann reminded viewers that he was an instigator of hate and dysfunction in the body politic. The mainstream media have a tendency of rehabilitating some that are genuinely unworthy of such rehabilitation.
