My rant on Bernie Sanders v Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton v Bernie Sanders

Hillary Clinton won big in New York. She gave a very solid and positive speech. Many are crying foul. There is no real need to. It is true that there may have been a few political shenanigans but I do not think there was anything that would have changed the outcome. A Democrats-only election where Democrats had to be declared six months previous is a boat anchor. A large number of real Liberals and Progressives are independents.

Here is the reality. Bernie Sanders is fighting against an entire establishment (political party, media, and corporatocracy). That combination is powerful enough to spin several stories. 1) Bernie Sanders is not viable 2) His policies are pie in the sky, etc.

Those who support Bernie Sanders fight an uphill battle in convincing fellow Americans that they deserve more. Most Americans are going for the ‘safe’ bet.

Additionally, many baby boomer women justifiably want a woman for president. I want a woman for president. I do not think Hillary Clinton is the best first woman to be president because I personally believe she is mimicking all that I consider less than desirable in the men that preceded her.

Look Hillary has more popular votes and pledged delegates. That is a fact. It will take a lot of grassroots work to overcome that. It will likely not be overcome in this election. That must not stop engagement. Suits, superdelegates fights, and all that stuff are not the answers. Continuation in building the movement irrespective of the outcome is. Keeping the people who finally entered the political process is. To do that requires that we give them a purpose and achievable goals.

Every politician is an empty vessel to be filled. So far it has been filled with the will of the plutocracy. It is time for us to concentrate more on movement building, a movement that will replace the pollution they are filled with, instead with the values of the movement. Again, achievable goals that keep people engaged and not deflated.
