Chuck Todd makes Ted Cruz seem delusional
Chuck Todd and other journalists are late to their job. But Todd did well in exposing Ted Cruz as a delusional demagogue only capable of spewing talking points.
Todd did not let up on Ted Cruz. Cruz is known for long monologues. He generally does not answer the questions. By the time he is done with the monologue, everyone has already forgotten that a question was asked. By then, they are in Cruz’s frame.
Chuck Todd did some very good journalism today. When Cruz went on his monologue, Chuck interrupted and kept pressuring him for a response. When the response didn’t come, he pointed out that Cruz did not answer. Generally, most of these journalists simply accepted the spin as an answer.
Ted Cruz refused to answer whether he will support Donald Trump if he is the Republican nominee or not. All he repeated is that Donald Trump will lose and he is laughing at Americans and fooling Americans. Todd kept the pressure on throughout the interview.
“You just said it is a time for choosing,” Todd said. “If it is a time for choosing, say it. For him or against him as the nominee. It’s the time for choosing. Is it now?”
Cruz sort of accused Todd of supporting Donald Trump. He continued spinning.
Todd had a zinger for Cruz in the interview. “Senator, it is about the numbers,” Todd said. “He may win. Republican voters are the ones rejecting you. This is not a media conspiracy senator.”
When Ted Cruz accused the media of being partisan Democrats, Chuck Todd fought back. “You don’t just to get say that,” Todd interjected. “It’s just not true. But go ahead. You are broad-brushing here. This is exactly what people hate about the media and politics, broad-brushes.”
When asked about the media profits from Republican debates, Chuck Todd reminded Cruz that there were no GOP debates on NBC.
