Diner owner was stealing from the government, others people’s money
Diner owner & TEA Party type Obama antagonist displays his hypocrisy as he maligned ‘takers’ yet gets convicted for welfare fraud. Michael Tassone, the owner of the American Diner in Liverpool, was sentenced May 5, 2016, to a one-year conditional discharge after he pleaded guilty to welfare fraud.

“It was Medicaid fraud. They had failed to disclose income on their application. As a result they obtained Medicaid benefits they weren’t entitled to, from May 1, 2009 to April 30, 2011,” Kasmarek said.
Tassone was arrested Oct. 25, 2011. The case took nearly five years to resolve because prosecutors gave Tassone time to pay restitution before deciding whether to present the case to a grand jury.
Tassone’s wife, Michelle Tassone, also pleaded guilty to offering a false instrument for filing, a misdemeanor, and received the same sentence, Kasmarek said.
Why is this newsworthy? This diner owner is representative of many TEA Party types who preach a false anti-government individualism. Yet, many find themselves dependent on government. Many of them imply that they are the pure moralists that live a lawful life, yet like Michael Tassone, are nothing more than scammers and thieves.
For many of these people, the fraud affected by Donald Trump on many Americans via Trump University is par for the course. That is why the Trump University fraud is likely to have little effect on the core supporters of Right Wing Republicans or TEA Party types. They are comfortable living in a bubble kept inflated by fallacies.
