President Obama did not hold back in pointing out Donald Trump is unfit for the presidency.
President Obama doubles down on Trumps unfitness for the presidency
President Obama did not mince words on Donald Trump’s unfitness for the presidency as he questioned Republicans about a party that made him their standard bearer.Obama laid out many of the reasons Trump is unfit.
“I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president,” President Obama said. “I said so last week. And he keeps on proving it. The notion that he would attack a Gold Star family that had made such extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of our country. The fact that he doesn’t appear to have basic knowledge around critical issues in Europe, in the Middle-East, in Asia, means that he is willfully unprepared to do this job. And this is not just my opinion. I think what has been interesting is the repeated denunciation of his statements by leading Republicans.”
The President said Republicans have an important question to ask.
“And the question that they have to ask themselves is that if you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?” President Obama asked. “What does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer?”
The President then said their denunciations ring hollow given that they continue to stand by their endorsement of Trump.
