Former Mexican President Vicente Fox has some harsh words for Trump’s visit to Mexico. We do not want you here.
Trump’s trip to Mexico slammed
Former Mexican President Vicente Fox blasted Donald Trump character as he slammed Trump’s visit as a political stunt.
Donald Trump is traveling to meet with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. The former Mexican President Vicente Fox was not happy about it, and he made that clear in his interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo.
“First of all, let me tell you,” the former president said. “He is not welcome to Mexico. By one hundred and thirty million people, we don’t like him. We don’t want him. We reject his visit. I don’t understand why President Peña has offered this opportunity. I thnk it is nothing more than a political stunt. Trump is using Mexico. He is using President Peña to boost his sinking poll numbers. I think President Peña is taking an enormous political risk hosting Trump. If he is perceived as going soft on Trump, it will hurt him greatly. He would even be considered like a traitor. Because we don’t accept to be offended like we just heard and as if nothing has happened he comes here with a smile on his face.”
Cuomo asked why doesn’t he see it as improving relations. Fox replied that Trump is not presidential. He said you cannot lie or take advantage of people or cheat people which are characteristics of Donald Trump.
Fox said he hopes U.S. citizens and U.S. public opinion see what is behind Trump. He called Trump a false prophet that is just cheating everybody.
The former Mexican President said he hopes President Enrique Peña Nieto takes a firm stand and forces Trump to apologize to all Mexicans in Mexico and in the United States. He also wants the president to force Trump to withdraw all the stupid proposals like the wall, a trade war, limiting foreign investment, taxing imports, and more.
“How can you trust a guy like this,” Fox said. “This morning he is coming with this message. Tomorrow he will take a different stand. I really do not understand what is going on here. I apologize for a president taking this step forward. I do expect from him as all one hundred and thirty million Mexicans, as all of our great brother and sister Mexicans in the United States an explanation from both President Peña and Trump himself.”
