Chuck Todd slams Donald Trump's friendly cues towards Russia

Mike Barnicle appeared disgusted as he tried to figure out why many Americans are falling for Donald Trump irrespective of his friendly cues towards Vladimir Putin.

Chuck Todd & Sam Stein attempt to decipher Donald Trump support

Mike Barnicle, HuffPost Sam Stein, and Chuck Todd continue to be flabbergasted by the support Donald Trump gets even with his adoration of Vladimir Putin.

“What is going on with our politics, our culture in this country,” Mike Barnicle said. “When the former head of the KGB, Vladimir Putin is regarded as a hero by the nominee of the Republican Party for the President of the United States. … Virtually get a free pass.”

“I guess it is political insanity,” Chuck Todd chimed in. “Ideological insanity. I don’t know what you want to call it. Are we so in a polarized environment, that there are people that say to themselves at the end of the day I cannot break with [my] party. This is national security. This is the basic premise of American exceptionalism. The idea frankly that we would sit here and think it is okay to praise a leader who doesn’t believe in basic freedoms that were the founding principles of this country, starting with freedom of the press. … By the way, one more thing Mika. Donald Trump went on Russian propaganda television to trash the American press core. Just absolutely In Through The Outdoor stuff.”

Sam Stein then said that when the head of a party says something, the followers tend to associate more with the leader of the party than the ideology of the party even if they diverge at times. He gave a classic example using Sean Hannity. Hannity called Julian Assange a traitor three years ago. However, now that Assange has a vendetta on Hillary Clinton, he brought him to his show and said he hopes Assange gets his freedom. It is the height of palpable hypocrisy.
