How the media is screwing up the debate, the election and, the country

How the media is screwing up the country and our election

We should all wonder if we are watching an election or a reality show, just one of existential importance if we make the wrong choice.

While perusing my DailyKOS feed I came across a must read by Laurence Lewis that thoroughly identify the problem with the media in one short post. His article titled “MSNBC is a case study in how concocted media expectations are gaming the debate”  points out that;

As the media pretend to tell us what the expectations are for the debates, keep in mind that they are creating these expectations. They are inventing them out of thin air.

Media’s false expectations of the debate

He ends the article with a profound statement on the difficulty for Hillary Clinton.

In the spirit of MSNBC:

Clinton’s tasks tonight:

  1. Unify Quantum Mechanics & Relativity.
  2. All answers in Shakespeare quotes.
  3. Smile constantly but look real.

Trump’s tasks tonight.

  1. Show up.
  2. Don’t projectile vomit.
  3. Breathe.

Because it’s easy to act as if the presidency isn’t a serious job, or the outcome of this election won’t have serious consequences.

There is too much truth those paragraphs. I continue to be amazed at a country, the leader of the world; that falls into a media created stupor that could turn out badly. Folks, wake up and understand the manipulation before it’s too late.
