Obama speech: If you disrespect women before office you will in office (VIDEO)

President Obama

President Obama made the case that the same character flaws Donald Trump have outside of the presidential office, he would have if he became president.

President Obama let Trump have it

President Obama flew into Chapel Hill North Carolina and gave an excellent speech in which he contrasted Donald Trump & Hillary Clinton. Obama called out the normalization of Trump vitriol.

“We have to stop thinking that his behavior is normal,” President Obama said. “That is the bounds of what has up until now been our normal political discourse. And you hear some folks now justifying it. And making excuses. You hear some Republicans who, they know he is not qualified, but they say ‘Well, ‘character’ doesn’t matter. Knowing the issued doesn’t matter. ‘Policy’ doesn’t matter so long that he supports the Republican agenda.'”

The President explains the folly of doing that.

“It’s about who you are and what you are,” Obama said. “And it doesn’t change after you occupy the office. It just magnifies it.”

The President then went in for the kill.

“If you disrespect women before you are elected president,” said Obama. “You will disrespect women when you are in office. If you accept the support of Klan sympathizers and hesitate when asked about that support, then you will tolerate that support when you are in office. If you disrespect the Constitution before you are elected president, and you threaten to shut down the press when they write stories about you that you don’t like. Or you threaten to throw your opponent in jail without any due process, or you discriminate against people of different faiths. Then imagine what you would do when you have the power to violate the constitution along those lines.”

The President said he wanted to speak to both Democrats and Republicans in a non-partisan manner. He reminded the audience that we are Americans first before partisans. He said that there is a standard of behavior that is expected of all politicians. The president implied that the Republic is at risk. He then gave the call to action.

“The good news is all of you are uniquely qualified to make sure this guy who is uniquely unqualified does not become president,” Obama said. “You just gotta vote. And the nice thing is you don’t just have to vote against that guy because you’ve got a candidate who is actually worthy of your vote. Who is smart. And who is steady. And who is tested, is probably the most qualified person ever to run for this office. And that is the next president of the United States Hillary Clinton.”
