According to Lee Camp, the hostile takeover of our country by the corporate elite is complete. He calls it a coup. While a bit graphic, he hits the nail on the head as he used this CEO slip of the tongue to make his case, America is a company.
America is now a company
Lee Camp caught Robert Murray, head of Murray Energy, telling a truth most activists have been screaming for some time now. The plutocrats are not only in power behind the scene; they are now at the helm of our government.
Camp played a Fox Business clip where Robert Murray appeared as the guest to defend Trump’s choice of Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State. The host pointed out that Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and Former Secretary of State James Baker support Tillerson and should carry a lot of weight.
“Yes,” Lee Camp said. “Look at these war criminals who support Tillerson. Doesn’t that mean something? It’s almost as if these slimeballs think the United States of America is a company and not a country; that it’s prime goal is profit, not the bettering of the lives of people, of our citizens. Come on Robert Murray, put my mind at ease that this is about the country, the people, us.”
Camp then played a clip that said it all.
“As I said before Mr. Trump was elected,” Robert Murray said. “that he has the passion and the courage and the commitment to bring in the most competent people in the United States of America to run our company.”
“Trump is bringing in the best people to run our company,” Camp screamed. “Our company? It is supposed to be a country. .. These people, the parasitic business class of billionaire exploitation vampires have taken over. And it is evident they view this country, our country, as a company in which their task is to enrich themselves. The hostile corporate takeover is complete. … And what is a hostile takeover called when it is a country and not a company? It is a coup. … And don’t worry, I am not just laying this on the Republicans. The corporate Democrats are equally responsible. They just weren’t as obvious with it, weren’t as upfront about it. And this is one of the many reasons we have to keep fighting.”
I could not agree more with Camp. And with the Republican Congress’ vote to gut the Independent Office of Congressional Ethics, there is no draining of the swamp. They are filling it with sewage.
