Fox New’s Shepard Smith went on air to defend CNN with a striking admonition of Donald Trump. There is a specific reason why he did that.

It may seem shocking to some that Fox News Shepard Smith defended of CNN. They had no choice. They understand Trump is a threat to all media. Donald Trump punished CNN’s Jim Acosta because the company reported on a widely circulated negative dossier on Trump.
“President-elect Trump today told CNN’s Jim Acosta that his organization amounts to fake news,” Shepard Smith said. “CNN’s exclusive reporting on the Russian matter was separate and distinctly different from the document dump executed by an online news property.”
He then admonished Trump.
“Though we at Fox News cannot confirm CNN’s report,” Smith said. “It is our observation that its correspondents followed journalistic standards and that neither they nor any other journalist should be subjected to belittling and delegitimizing by the president-elect of the United States.”
There are two realities on must garner from this. The mainstream media establishment is a business. Donald Trump puts their business at risk. As such irrespective of the product, the members of this establishment sells, Right Wing Left Wing, conspiracy, etc., they all have a mutual interests. It is evident that they will work together to overcome the attack and attempted controls coming that Trump will deliver.
