Senator John McCain to NBC Chuck Todd I hate the press. I hate you (VIDEO)

Senator John McCain told NBC’s Meet The Press Host Chuck Todd he hates both Todd and the press. He was trying to make a much more important point to the president.

Senator John McCain gets real with Chuck Todd

John McCain was himself when he described his feeling towards the media to express a critical point about our democracy.

“I am curious ‘of’ your reaction to a tweet that the President sent Friday night,” Chuck Todd said. “‘The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!’ Do you believe the press is the enemy? Do you believe any group of Americans is the enemy of another group of Americans?”

“I was talking about the period as you know, the new world order,” McCain said. “A part of that new world order was a free press. I hate the press. I hate you especially. But the fact is, we need you. We need a free press. We must have it. It’s vital. If you want to preserve — I am very serious now — If you want to preserve democracies as we know it, you need to have a free and many times an adversarial press. And without it, I am afraid that we would lose so much of our individual liberties over time. That’s how dictators get started.

“That’s how dictators get started?” Chuck Todd asked. “With tweets like that?”

“No, it get’s started by suppressing the free press,” McCain responded. “In other words, a consolidation of power when you look at history, the first thing that dictators do is shut down the press. I am not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I am just saying we need to learn the lessons of history.”

Yes, McCain, you are saying Donald Trump has dictatorship proclivities.
