Donald Trump talks about wasteful spending and punitive budget cuts that hurt the least among us. And yet, the billionaire pilfers the American taxpayers for his weekly trips to his estates.

Jake Tapper exposes Donald Trump’s wasteful, selfish spending

Jake Tapper is at it again as he exposes Trump’s hypocrisy as talks about gutting the budget as he wastes taxpayer dollars traveling to his estates.

“Moments ago President Trump arrived in West Palm Beach Florida,” Jake Tapper said. “He will spend his fourth weekend as president at Mar A Lago after making this pledge just a few days ago.”

Tapper then played a video clip where Trump said, “No more wasted money. We are going to be spending money in a very very careful manner. We must do a lot more with less.”

“Do a lot more with less,” Jake Tapper repeated. “Presidents are certainly entitled to take a day off. But any deficit hawk would ask, ‘Is a weekly trip Palm Beach by the president doing a lot more with less. It takes Marine One, Air Force One, and motorcades to get the president to his posh oceanside estate along with intense Secret Service protection. There happens to be another presidential retreat closer and cheaper. That of course, would be Camp David. It is already setup to be a working White House. It has security protocols in place twenty-four seven. Some presidents use the Maryland site more than others. … Camp David costs taxpayers millions to maintain while it sits dormant.”

Tapper then played a report by Suzanne Malveaux where she pointed out that Trump’s trips in the last four weeks have cost the taxpayers over $10 million. The empty Camp David retreat continues to cost taxpayers $8 million per year. A snobbish Trump described the retreat to reporters as “Very rustic … It’s nice. You’d like it. You know how long you’d like it? For about thirty minutes.”

The hypocrisy continues and must be called out every time. Jake Tapper is among a small but growing pool of journalists that have grown a spine and begun challenging this president’s lies, hypocrisy, and deception.
