Fox News Shepard Smith was pretty tough on the White House today as he described the Flynn scandal to his audience. Is Fox News hedging its all in support for Donald Trump?
Shepard Smith challenges White House on Flynn scandal
Will Shepard Smith going all in on the Flynn scandal and the apparent collusion with the Russians influence the Trump voter? Smith did some straight reporting today as he has been doing recently.
“The situation is unprecedented,” Shepard Smith said. “Never in American history has a man so close to the president, on his cabinet, the national security advisor no less, been accused of committing a crime by taking money from a foreign entity, much less one connected to the Russians. The investigation largely dominated the White House briefing today.”
Shepard went on to ask John Roberts about the White House briefing. He then simplified the scandal for his audience.
“The core of all this is,” Smith said. “The Russians interfered with our election. General Flynn received money through an entity that was from the Russians. And what they want to know is was there collusion? The White House at least is giving the appearance according to these Congress leaders of a lack of cooperation which could give an overall appearance that they are trying to cover something up. Why not quit with all the semantic juggling and stuff and get to the bottom of this as quickly as possible., to get it off their plate. … Actions have consequences. There are a lot of different strategies to be employed here. The one that they have taken at the White House, how dangerous is it?”
The scandal is now like a fission nuclear reactor where the chain reaction has begun. If Fox News is getting in on the act by examining an administration they believe they must coddle, then it is serious and may challenge the cultish nature of some of the Trump voters.
