French President rebuked Trump in speech he gives in English

French President Emmanuel Macron used very well coded language to stick it to Donald Trump, taking care not to alienate Americans in general. His speech pierced Trump elegantly,

French President Emmanuel Macron shows Donald Trump presidential behavior

Donald Trump’s narcissism may prevent him from understanding the tongue lashing he received from the French President. Others will.

Macron first pointed out that it is irresponsible not to do something about climate change given the consequences.

“It is already changing our daily lives, but it is global,” French President Emmanuel Macron said. “Everyone is impacted and if we do nothing our children will know a world of migrations, of war, of shortage, a dangerous world. It is not the future we want for ourselves. It is not the future we want for our children. It is not the future we want for our world.”

Macron then called Trump’s action a mistake.

“Today the President of the United States, ” Macron said. “Donald Trump announced his decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris agreement. I do respect this decision, but I do think it is an actual mistake both for the US and for our planet. As you said President Trump in a few words a few minutes ago, this assessment.”

The French President opened up his country to American scientists and engineers who are interested in doing groundbreaking climate work. In other words, Donald Trump opened the door for a brain drain and with that the loss of opportunities for expanding business in growing climate-related activities.

“Tonight I wish to tell the United States France believes in you,” the French President said. “The world believes in you. I know that you are a great nation. I know your history, our common history. To all scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs, responsible citizens who were disappointed by the decision of the President of the United States. I want to say that they will find in France a second homeland. I call, on them, come and work here with us to work together on concrete solutions for our climate, our environment.”

Macron then isolated the Trump from the rest of the world. He made it clear that with or without the U.S., the agreement is irreversible. He also slyly implied one cannot count on Donald Trump.

“I can assure you France will not give up the fight,” Macron said. “I reaffirmed clearly that the Paris agreement remains irreversible and will be implemented not just by friends, but by all the other nations. Over the coming years, I will have the opportunity to speak with our main partners to define a common strategy and to launch new initiatives. I already know that I can count on them. I call you to remain confident.”

He ended his statement with a taunt.

“We will succeed because we are fully committed,” Macron said. “Because wherever we live. Wherever we are, we all share the same responsibility. Make our planet great again. Thank you.”

This speech was very well designed. Everyone in the world will understand all of its connotations.
