Nina Turner gripping speech at Our Revolution Texas Gulf Coast (VIDEO)

Nina Turner, President of Our Revolution and former Ohio State Senator, was the keynote speaker at “Our Revolution Texas Gulf Coast presents from inequality to solidarity” in the Montrose Center in Houston Texas.

Nina Turner did not pull any punches as her speech to the Our Revolution crowed was a call to action urging the disregard of fear and the engagement of all. Turner’s passion for the movement seemed unending and no different than the one she displayed when I interviewed her on Politics Done Right during the 2016 Democratic Primaries when she was one of Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders most trusted backers.

Nina Turner’s riveting speech at Our Revolution Texas Gulf Coast

The Our Revolution President touched on many issues. She castigated Republicans for their patriarchal manipulation of women’s reproductive rights. She admonished the Left and Right alike for the false divisions they create within the body politic. Turner said that Our Revolution, the grassroots, is fighting the political establishment on both sides of the aisle.

“There is no middle-of-the-road way to be for the people,” Turner said. “Either you are for the people, or you are not. Either you put something on the line, or you are not. But if you are not, get to hell out of the way and let those of us who are willing to fight, get this done.

Turner said it is shield building time now. One cannot wait for the election but must prepare for the elections in 2018 and 2020. First and foremost, Nina Turner’s message was a message of unity among all working Americans. It is clear her goal is to empower Americans to demand what is rightfully theirs. She personalized the movement with her own story as a first-generation college graduate in her family.

Every Our Revolution speaker should encapsulate Turner’s message and delivery. Every attendee, irrespective of race, culture, background, and religion left that building inspired and ready to work for change.
