Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX) appeared on Morning Joe. Some may view the panel hammering him on carried interest showed good journalism. They failed. They did not ask the right questions in the proper context, and Brady ended the interview unscathed. They should have asked them like this.
Kevin Brady spun out of ill-prepared questions on GOP tax cut scam
A message to Morning Joe, most Americans don’t care about carried interest until they first understand that it is stealing from them in several ways. The media allows the Republicans to drive the narrative.
It was evident that Congressman Brady intended to spin. They are asking him the wrong questions. It’s not about giving tax breaks to wealthy people; it is about theft from the masses.
Morning Joe should have told the listeners how much carried interest adds up to and ask the congressman why increasing the deficit by that amount, which the masses will pay for in interest on the debt and cuts in Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and infrastructure is not class warfare.
This type of spinning went on for nine minutes. It was “Mission Accomplished” by the Republican spin machine. While this bill, this tax cut scam will further steal from Americans, the GOP narrative unchecked could turn this boondoggle into a qualified political success in the long run.
